Ok, guys I am sorry for misunderstanding. I had my wife put this on here and she didn't know the difference. This is a Model SB5101 cable modem. Not a wireless router. Very sorry for misunderstanding.

Hey Dan, I have cable tv out in my garage that is split off from my cable inside the house. I also have Internet that runs through the same cable wire. The cable that comes out of the wall in my livingroom is hooked up to a wireless router for the Internet. I am able to run an Ethernet cable out of this router also. What I am wondering, is if I were to put this modem out in my garage and hook the cable out there into it, would I be able to hook up an Ethernet cable to it in order to get internet ?

Yes you would, that would be a perfect use for this. As long as you already have cable internet in your home and the cable connection in your garage is active. It would work fine.
