Description
The listing, VINTAGE 14K YG GENUINE STAR RUBY DIAMOND RING SZ6 has ended.
This vintage beauty features a genuine star ruby accented with a small diamond on either side. It is set into 14k yellow gold and is stamped with the maker's mark (looks like a cursive F) 14k and another symbol that looks like a 3 laying on its side. It is a tight size 6 and is in great condition. There are some light surface marks that could be buffed out but they are only noticeable up close and ate expected with the age of the ring.
Will ship free to the US and Canada:)
Thanks for looking, have an awesome day!
Questions & Comments
A ruby is a pink to blood-red colored gemstone, a variety of the mineral corundum (aluminium oxide). The red color is caused mainly by the presence of the element chromium. Its name comes from ruber, Latin for red. Other varieties of gem-quality corundum are called sapphires.<<< for whoever was so adamant ... Wow people should read up first before commenting IMHO , AWESOME auction! All the best tomm
Thank you for answering my question. I have been fooled by many when it comes to a star sapphire. I love them, and find them the prettiest stones ever. I thought it was at a different angle in a couple of the pictures, but needed to make sure. AWESOME ring and auction. The winner of this one, is sure getting a BEAUTIFUL ring. Thanks again...:)
No problem:) I too have been fooled by star stones in the past. I bought a star sapphire ring only to discover that the star part was just painted on. It looked nice, but certainly was not worth the price.
Great item and now I just remember that you are a trusted seller that I forgot to mention when I posted. Thanks for liking my profile.. Good luck with this Wonderful auction.
My Father was in India and Africa during WW II. He purchased a lot of stones while he was there. One of the stones was a Lavender Star Ruby, which I have never seen since. My Mother gave it to my niece. It was set in yellow gold and had diamonds also. Very Beautiful! Much like this one. I will keep my eyes glued! Thanks for offering such a Fantastic auction piece! Fanned! Bonnie
Wow on the tons of comments! I've lost about 3 blue star sapphires through the years, and didn't realize there were other colors! I always have to have rings cut down so I wonderi that may loosen the stone just a bit and there goes another, lol! Def. watching this closely, love it!
when rubies look like the color of raspberries like this one, it kind of makes you wonder that if it would taste like it when you put it in your mouth! LOL! Wish I had the credits for this beauty. Good luck to the winner!
