Based on my research Fairbank's Gold Dust was an all purpose household cleaning powder that was a strong household staple for over 60yrs from late 1880s to early 1950s.
Desperate Sign Co. or Desperate Enterprises Inc. started Antique reproductions in 1987. Upon visiting their website desperate dot com I could not find this or any other Fairbank's or Gold Dust signs for purchase. Which leads me to believe they no longer reproduce it. When they stopped I do not know.
I found two eBay auctions. One claiming to be an authentic rare original with the desperate copyright conveniently rusted off going for $333! And the other stating it is a desperate sign co and heavily stained for $20.
