I dont know i bought it a coupke months ago it was described that way in the descrition but i would think a real ruby wouldbe hu dreds of dollars so it may be simulated all i can telk u is it was des ribed that way but it did not cost me hundreds of dollars for it, looks real and it is avery pretty ring i havealot more jewelry i will be ,isting maybe four more piecescayse i cant afird all the shipping then after aug 3rd i get paid ineill liwt more i have alot of earrimgs
