Hello there!! Up for auction is a Beautiful Silver Butterfly Pendant!!! I received this pendant from a friend, but it's just too flashy for me...So, now it is Listia material haha! The pendant definitely has a Stamp on the back, but I can't tell what is says & don't have a magnifying glass handy. It appears to be a nice Sterling Silver. i would GIN it right now if i knew for a fact that it was hallmarked 925..i dont want to pay 100k for fashion jewelry....i mean it looks silver but you said you cant see the writing....is there anyway you can find out if it says 925?

Ok, I took an "honest" really hard look...Still can't see....): But, I googled how to tell if silver is real or not. It said silver & gold are non- ferrous, so if put a magnet up to it- it will "Not" attract to it. Fake jewelry "Will" attract to it. I did the magnet test. I put a magnet up to it & it would "Not" attract. This truly is the Best I can offer you. I do believe it is Real Sterling Silver now, as their was no attraction....But, I will see if Listia allows me to lower the GIN, as it is not 100% sure. Thanks (:

yea i appreciate you trying but i do want to tell you about that test, its not a food proof way of telling. If the magnet does not stick to your metal: The metal you have is a non-ferrous metal. It doesnt mean that its for sure sterling silver. Many common metals, like copper, aluminum, brass, stainless steel and bronze are categorized as non-ferrous metals.My eyes are bad too, next time you go to the dollar tree, try and buy a magnifyer, i wouldnt be able to sell on here without one! lol
