The listing, 1920's Ormolu Gilded Brass and Glass Jewelry Box has ended.

This lovely little box measures 4 1/4" wide by 3 1/4" tall by 3 1/4" deep.

It's from the 1920's and it's in near perfect condition considering it's nearly 100 years old!

I've been researching it online and I found one on the "other":auction site that just ended for $42 (and it wasn't in nearly as good condition as this one!).

As you can see some of the gilded brass has worn off especially on the hinge. It just shows it's age and doesn't take away from it's beauty.

There are 2 little "fan" pieces built into the hinge that move freely. They prevent the lid from going back too far.

It has 4 little legs with turned under feet and it sits level.

It has a thick beveled glass top that is held in by many little prongs. It appears that one is missing although it is located even with the seam in the back and it may have been made that way. I can't tell if there's enough room for a prong or not so I don't know if one is actually missing or not. It's not noticable unless you are looking for flaws like I was to write this description.

It not dated. There is no writing on it at all. It's often possible to get a close estimate of an item's age based on it's style and the time period that style was popular. I spent quite a while researching this one and I'm certian I've got the age correct. I still don't know the maker though.
