Runs smoothly. No ticking. The second hand moves continuously, no tick tick tick.. That annoys me & can't sleep if I hear that in my house. I will wipe the water spots before I ship it to the winner. It was in my bathroom. I've owned and used this for slightly over six months until my husband bought me a digital one. This one shows the humidity on the lower left and temperature on the lower right.
