The 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame Uncirculated Half Dollars are limited to a mintage of 750,000 between the Proof and Uncirculated variations. They are expected to sell out quickly and be highly collectible as they are the first curved coin released by the U.S. Mint.
The 2014 Baseball HOF Uncirculated Half Dollars are graded proof 69 by NGC. The Uncirculated Half Dollar bears the "S" Mint Mark on the reverse.
The design of the coin, by Cassie McFarland, was chosen by the Department of the Treasury in consultation with the National Baseball Hall of Fame and U.S. Commission of Fine Arts and reviewed by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee. The obverse of the coin depicts a baseball glove which mirrors the glove's concave appearance. It carries the inscriptions Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2014. The reverse design depicts a baseball and mirrors a baseball's convex appearance. It carries the inscriptions United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, and Half Dollar.
