Offered is an Original political presidential celluloid campaign button, badge or pin that promoted Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro as the Democratic candidates for president and vice president against Republicans Ronald Reagan and George Herbert Walker Bush.

This was an official button manufactured for the Democratic party by N.G. Slater Corp. of NYC as shown on the bottom curl of the button (wording is in focus, however, my camera focused on the clasp pinback instead).

Walter Mondale was the former vice president with James Earl Jimmy Carter.

Although other women had run for vice president or president, Geraldine Ferraro, a congresswoman in the US House of Representatives from New York, was the first in a major national political party.

This is a beautiful red, white and blue pinback button showing names, date and the slogan. It is one of the great campaign buttons of that election.

It is a jugate (showing photographs of both the president and vice presidential candidates) and is 2 1/8" in diameter and Like Mint both front and reverse.
