I have the same concerns that "auctiontech" has about activation.
Since it's been activated the fees to get an activation code would be about the same as buying it.
You/we may be able to activate it if you wipe it of your system (which you said you've already done) and go to your Adobe account and deactivate it, BUT if it isn't done correctly not only will it be deactivated it also will be BLACK LISTED and would never be able to activate again.
I've been there done that. It was a waste of just my time, because he did return my money after he learned what his mistake was.
I'll try to catch up with him to find out what steps should be take to get it done correctly. I'm sure you know giving Adobe the wrong answer or ticking the wrong box or talking to a rep. that just don't care could/would screw you up BIG time.

The suite I had for Mac I got off here was used suite 4 too. Donated to a college student. He had no issues
