The listing, Vintage Coins has ended.

Here we have 12 US coins ranging from 1865 to 1958. But I would like to start with the 1865 Two Cent piece. This coin was found with the aid of a metal detector about 34 years ago by myself. The coin was inside a leather pouch along with a letter Approx. 7 inches from the skelatal remains of a Union Soldier. The coin was found first and then the soldier. The authorities from the Virginia Historical Society were notified and the soldier was given a proper burial in the Arlington Cemetary. The rest of the coins are:

I'm thinking about using the GIN for this auction but I'm just curious why you got to keep the coin when it was obviously the soldiers? lol I LOVE the story and the history behind that coin though. Great Auction! Fanned!
