Germany Prussia 1/2 Mark Silver Wilhelm I (1861-1888)

===. NO GIN ON THIS AUCTION ===

I purchased this coin way back in the 1960's when I was a kid. I can't tell you much about it other than what is written on the coin holder. I do not see an actual date on the coin but the holder says 1876-1884; it might be pre-1876. It is says it is silver but the color is more like a black tarnish. It does have very good detail it is not very worn. It is about half the size of a US dime. I know it is genuine but I have not seen anyone selling this particular coin. .

This is a 2 mark jeton from germany manufactured in the 1870s....The reverse reads read L CHR LAUER which is the designer and manufacturer L.CHRISTOPHER LAUER.....SPIEL MUNZE translates to "play money"...They were base metal which was weakly silver plated which wore off easily...they were used a lot for gambling
