The listing, CUTE CHRISTMAS SEALS FROM 1974 has ended.
A sheet of decorative Christmas Seals issued in 1974. These are not postage but are meant to be placed on cards and packages as a reminder to donate to the Christmas Seals fund.
Christmas Seals were first sold in 1907 in Delaware. At that time tuberculosis was the leading cause of death in the U.S. Over the years the organization (American Lung Association) spread out to include other lung diseases
They are a unique and nostalgic way to decorate your Christmas items. As a kid, I remember every Christmas card we received had Christmas Seals on them.
This is a full sheet of stamps. I included a second scan of a portion of the sheet hoping you can see the details.
Very cute design with children building a snowman and sledding, as well as two dogs by a Christmas tree and a marching postman.
Never used.
For the collector, these are "F," meaning they were printed by Eureka Specialty, Scranton, PA.
This was part of my late Father's stamp and seal collection.
I'll ship it folded in a standard sized envelope.
FYI: I have a second of the same sheet listed in Stamps.
Thanks for looking!
