Description

The listing, Peruvian Apple Cactus seeds, Cereus Peruvianus has ended.

A smooth skinned pitaya that is white meated and nearly the exact flavor as dragon fruit, but the cacti these come from is a tall thick colomnuar cacti, and creates fruit that can easily get much fatter and larger pitaya fruit than the dragon fruit create. It seems to me that the Peruvian Apple fruit, seems to take a bit longer to ripen, but I believe its because the fruit are heavier than dragon fruit. The wait is worth it. Also these cacti seem to flower enmass therefore the fruit will often ripen about the sametime, and you can have a serious Pitaya feast, or save them up by canning then or making pitaya drinks or if cooking with them is possible, making pitaya pie, or even more interesting pitaya ice cream. These really are under utilitized fruits that have the possiblity of becoming gormet food. Very good for you, if it is possible beable to grow enough of C.Peruvianus cacti you can have a serious overload of this delicious fruit and have a field day experimenting with recipies with the Peruvian Apple fruit. This is a short auction due to a listian asking for a short auction. So good luck to all that are interested!

My bad, there should be about 10 seeds in this auction. I usually send a few extras. My seed count I put up are usually low, i almost always send extras. If I got rid of a whole fruit, I would have to charge for shipping. I would want to wait until I have a ripe fruit in hand, before I put said auction up. But yes once I have a ripe fruit, I can do that. Good idea. I would want to pick before its perfectly ripe as they are at their prime they split. But if i packaged it and did over night shipping, it should be fine. There are some that are currently dark purple, and tons that are still green! Before they turn red/brite pink (that is when they are ripe) they are a reddish purple color. Great question and idea!!! Thanks.
