great question! I really bad with measurements, but I did use it about twice to put my bible in , and hard back or soft back normal size book should fit, if the book was smaller of course there would be extra room.

I looked at Vera Bradly site, and I think this is the lg book cover and this is the description that I found for one that looked very much like one.
