This is an authentic antique pair of Brass Candle Snuffer Scissors with Wick Trimmer from the 1800's. Before electricity, candles were mandatory in every household. 19th century candle wicks did not burn away as modern ones do. So as the candle was snuffed, the wick was cut and captured inside the box on the scissors. I have included a good description of these scissors in the last photo. They measure approx. 6" long x 1" high. Thank you for bidding & good luck!
