Background details that resulted in the making of the replicated coin.

. The actual- authentic 1933 Gold Double Eagles were nearly all confiscated during the depression, as President Roosevelt made private ownership of gold to be illegal. The government confiscated all Gold Double Eagles minted in 1933 and melted them down into gold bars. Only a few coins escaped this fate. One of which was found in an Egyptian King's coin collection. When the King died- the coin ended up in America's possession where it was stored in the World Trade Center, only to be moved just days before the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. It sold at an auction for 7.59 million dollars.
