Questions & Comments
They really don't have any value I was told and I sure don't know why do you I think gold flakes should be. Nice auction
They don't hold a ton of value , but they do hold a little value. Before I knew about gold flakes I thought they would be really expensive lol. As you build up the amount of gold flakes in terms of grams you can profit really well. But I do agree the value should more.
The problem with value is that there's no weight involved. If, however, you look at it in terms of what you can DO with them, the value returns. They're used in much the same way as Gold foil, for decorative projects...for instance did you know that the 'Gold' Dome of the Capitol Building of Colorado, in Denver is made so by careful application of less than 2 mils thickness of Gold Foil? And yet, it seems to be solid Gold. My brother, a woodworker and sculptor, once made a Sea Serpent that dipped its' coils above and below a glass topped coffee table, stretching some 4' from crown to tail. It was a masterfully carved piece of woodwork, but would have been unbelievably mundane, had he not fully articulated the Serpents pattern of scales, and then used Gold foil to turn his creation in wood into a gorgeous treasure in 24ct Gold, with some Silver highlights blended in to the pattern using silver foil, and then he installed two (2) perfect, blood red Garnets for Eyes and a series of graduated Ivory fangs that he had a local jeweler fashion for him! When he was done, it was the most striking sculpture I think I've ever seen! He sold it for a VERY substantial amount to a private collector. Ever since then, I've remembered what can be done with very little in the way of real gold...until then, I always assumed that Gold Sculptures were GOLD, but since, I've never taken that for granted. Now, given the above, what is the size of the tubes you have listed? Thank you for a very nice listing! F&W!!
