The disc comes with its own ebook library you can buy from but if you want to put kindle books on it it's possible just a little more complicated. You have to download the kindle version to you computer and change the format before uploading it to the reader. Here's a guide to how it's done.

Yes. As long as you download it as a compatible format. You can even upload word documents to it. The disc it comes with has information on the formats that are best compatible. Idk all of them off the top of my head.

No. It doesn't have a backlight. A well lit room or even a small book light works good with it though.

I had the exact same one. Basically it takes only its one books. It is nothing like a tablet to put other books on there is like pulling teeth you have to have it in the correct format in the correct file I felt like I needed to know a little programming in order to do it right. But that being a large array of Sony their website and reading book if you have to read it in a nice way to read e book butdon't think you're getting a tablet but it is a good reader for Sony books
