The Shedding comb is an excellent tool for breaking up and removing mats. The special skip tooth design lifts out loose hair. The long teeth penetrate deep into the undercoat, while the short teeth collect the loose hair. The smooth rounded teeth are gentle to the skin.

Hi my new friend. This comb will most definately Not hurt your pet, that is why the "Safari" is designed for Pro's. I would say that it pretty much depends on just how "matted" your pet may be? But as far as shedding, my two little "babies" love being rid of their excess fur. Good Luck to you with a "fan" coming back your way. <3

thanks a bunch. i hope i win cause my little girl needs to get rid of excess fur she's always itchy i think she has dry skin also but she sheds like crazy for a short haired cat.

Aww! If thats her in your profile pic(?) What A Doll! ..... This will work wonderfully as it pertains to her shedding, however the dry skin might be another issue. There are specialty oils for your kitty's dry coat, espiecially if she is flaking? Not certain what it is but you might want to just try calling a vet for some valuable direction without an actual visit. Good Luck <3
