Gorgeous Cognac amber cross set in solid silver ... with a nice LARGE bail that will fit on almost any type of necklace. At more than an inch long, this really makes a statement ... a very unusual type of cross! A terrific gift for any occasion!

This is not marked (that I could see), so it may be a lower percentage of silver mixed with alloy. But, I am reasonably certain this is NOT silver plate--just can't recall as I bought this quite a few years ago.

Baltic amber is the best amber in the world, and comes in many colors. This rich rosy cognac color really sings in the silver setting. Amber is fossilized pine tree sap, and is typically melted and reformed to produce jewelry such as this.

It's a really neat type of "stone." Not everyone's cup of tea, but always fascinating! I have some really wonderful raw amber beads, they are very different than the melted type of amber you usually see!

Every piece of amber is so unique. I have several rings, a bracelet and some necklaces made from amber. Most treasured are the one's with insects or something else inside the amber.
