The listing, St. Michael the Archangel - original print has ended.
I worked on this painting of Saint Michael the Archangel for three months and I want to share it with you! As much time as I had to spend on this, my first (and only) painting of a real person (as opposed to my usual cartoon subjects) I am not going to be getting rid of the original. I will, however, make available a very limited number of prints. Each print is 8-1/2"x11" laser printed on semi-gloss photo paper. There will be a thin white border around the image so that it can be framed.
A word or two about my process... I sketch the initial image on plain copy paper in pencil first. Then, I lay a piece of transparency on top of that and trace the image to the plastic sheet using fine and ultra-fine Sharpie markers. Finally, the picture is painted using Plaid FolkArt and Apple Barrel paints. For my cartoon paintings, the only portion painted is the character him/her/itself, so whatever color sheet is mounted behind the image becomes the background as seen through the transparency. Here, however, the entire sheet was painted, so that was not an issue.
Even if you don't bid, any and all comments (both positive and negative) are welcome...
I do not think that $1 worth of credits is too much to ask for a work of item into which I poured my heart and soul, so...
Thank you and happy bidding!
