The listing, *NIB* Sewing Serger ~ Free Shipping! has ended.

Some of you may be thinking I'm crazy. Let me explain lol. I am auctioning off this brand new serger for my mother. She ordered this off ebay a few years ago. I wondered why since SHE DOESN'T EVEN SEW LOL!! Well, she had "visions of sewing" that lasted all of about two months. She never even took this out of the box. I don't sew either. I don't know anything about it but will try to answer any and all questions to the best of my ability. The first time it was taken out of the box was today for these pictures. It comes with instruction booklet and instruction DVD as pictured in #4. Accessories are in pic #3. As you see in pic #2 the inspection tag is still on it. It's not real big but boy is it heavy, weighing over 17lbs. This would make a great Christmas gift, I've been told they're quite handy lol.

Whoever wins this, please make sure you oil it before use because it has been sitting so long. Oil will evaporate over time and it may cause the moving parts to freeze up. Most likely, the instructional CD will tell you what parts need the oil. Trust me....I have enough sergers to know. Yamata/Gemsy are very good brands, so someone will be getting a really good deal here! The lucky winner may find it intimidating to sew with at first because unlike sergers that are intended for home use (this is one of their smaller industrial versions), it does not have clear increment markings on the tension dials. So you'll have to play around with it to get the tension set to your liking.

WOW, you are a very generous lady! Shipping is going to cost you a fortune. I hope you are shipping parcel post. That will be the cheapest way. This machine is beautiful. If I thought I had enough credits, I would bid on it for my daughter in law. She has just started sewing this year and this would just thrill her to death!
Fanned anyway. You are a wonderful woman!
God Bless,

Oh man if i had the credits I'd so be getting this for my Mom who has been looking for something like this. She loves to sew and has had her current sewing machine for 14 years almost. It's been very good to her through everything it's been through. It was stole and recovered by police. She had a hard time getting the finger print dust off once she got it back. She's giving some sewing lessons to my 2 oldest daughters on it. And just lately she's been wanting to get something like this to make the things she makes look so much nicer looking. She tried getting a loan to finance an embroidery machine. But that didn't work out for her. She's also talked about having a serger as well. But with being a on a fixed income she has to watch her budget. I wished I could do something like this for her.

I wish! I've been needing an overlock machine for the longest but never had the cash to get it. This would help out so much to finish off my garments properly for my portfolio and school assignments. I'm in school for fashion design.

What is a serger? What different is it to a sewing machine?
+1
Nov 26th, 2011 at 5:39:49 PM PST by

From Wikipedia: An overlock stitch sews over the edge of one or two pieces of cloth for edging, hemming or seaming. Usually an overlock sewing machine will cut the edges of the cloth as they are fed through (such machines are called ‘sergers’ in North America), though some are made without cutters. The inclusion of automated cutters allows overlock machines to create finished seams easily and quickly.

This is an awesome auction for anyone that is experienced enough to use it. Industrial, WOW! they can sew heavy fabrics such as leather and vinyl. What a deal, I wished I wasn't so much like your Mother, only in that(my new Serger, still sitting unused, but out of the box, progress! for over a year) I wish you many credit blessings!!! fanned, you're a generous soul!!! :o)

A friend gave me one exactly like this one, however mine was in very poor condition. I took it to a repairman and he said it was from 1976. I did not attempt to go further with it as it would cost way more to fix it. He said it was a good one when it was manufactured. So with the parts in tact, and practically new in the box it should be okay to serge with. Besides it is free to the winner. So what has one got to lose. Thanks for putting it up for auction.

I mis-spoke it's a CD not DVD and I just popped it into my computer and it has written instructions that I could open but has several files on it and I don't have time this morning to check them all. I'll check when I get home tonight :)
