Beautiful vintage Japanese whistling saké set contains six (6) saké cups with the Geisha lithophane and 6 chopstick rests with holder. Hand painted floral moriage.

I have never seen a set with the chopstick rests. This one has 6 rests, plus the holder which could be used as a sauce dish.

One cup does have a chip. see photos. And one chopstick rest has been repaired. It is not apparent from the top, I didn't discover it until I turned them all over. See photo. All other items are in perfect condition.

Stamped on bottom. The decanter has a six-sided octagon shape.

The small bird on the top has an opening on the side facing the spout. When the contents are poured into the cups, you hear a whistling sound, similar to a tea kettle.

Each of the six (6) saké cups has a fine line of gold gilding on the rim of each cup. When the cup is raised, you see the portrait of a Geisha Girl. Each chopstick holder also has the gilding, as does the holder/sauce dish.

I found these at an estate sale so do not know the provenance, but they are in excellent condition and would be a fine addition to any collection.

The measurements of decanter is approximately 5 3/4" tall, the cups are approximately 1 1/2", and the chopstick rests are approximately 3 1/4".
