This book is the true story of Natascha Kampusch, who was abducted on her way to school at only 10 years old, and held captive by her kidnapper for more than eight years. Her captor built an elaborate space for her to live in and held her prisoner for her entire childhood. The authors do a good job of going over the mistakes made by police, the sick mind of the captor and describing how the victim was not perceived as a victim upon her escape. Just ONE of three stories like this out of Austria, but the one that was first discovered.
