The listing, 1940's Gillette Gold Tech Razor has ended.

Vintage 1940's razor. Blade box is in perfect condition, but is empty. Razor is in wonderful condition. These razors give a close smooth shave, if you know how to use them. Good for daily use or as a collectors item.

On the base plate, does it have triangular slots or rectangular slots?

Kilroy505. I'm sorry I'm unsure what the "base Plate" is. The razor comes apart into 3 parts, the handle, and plate that the blade sits on, and the top part which actually holds the blade study, and has the screw that the handle attaches to. on the top piece there is a long thin part that the blade is placed on, you then put the bottom piece in place (which has a diamond shape on it) and the handle then screws the whole thing tight. I hope that helps. I was told that it was a gift from my Grandmother to my grandfather when they got married. It was given to me when she passed. I know I should keep it but its just sitting around as I'll never use it.
