I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by place mat.. It's not flimsy at all it's a hard sturdy board you stick on the fridge. I'm sorry I truly don't know what you mean that's why I answered w that. I meant nothing by it.

It's too thin to measure bc I was going to for you, it's thin but it's really hard, it doesn't bent at all I would actually say it is as this kid about as a placemat but like I sad it's really hard just meant to stick up on your fridge for little reminders or notes. I hope this does help you and I hope you'll still have interest. I can't really compare to a magma doodle for you bc I honestly don't remember how thick those things are my kids are grown and Marines I'm old!! :)
