Description

The listing, Victorian Greeting card with extra Paste stamps on front has ended.

A Victorian Era greeting card front lace paper cut fancy scallop cut around entire card. Featuring a lovely young lady, lace, roses,a baby reaching for butterflies. With a poem titled "My Treasure"

There are added paste stamps on front not originally on the card, but very common practice in the late 1800's.

Red Ink on white paper has greyed with age and the lace at bottom right front is torn loose as shown in picture.

Roughly measures 3.75 inches by 5.75 inches.

Condition Good with mucilage stain on back of card from where it was mounted in autograph book.
This was in the pages of the book below.
What this is from:I used to have a rare books and paper store. This autograph book was purchased at auction in horrid condition. Because well I breed Maine Coons and there was a page with a large Maine Coon cat sticker in it which is MINE!! lol In any case there are pages of stickers in it dates range in the book from 1883-1889. I thought perhaps you may enjoy a true paper antique to use to frame or whatever you like. I abhore tearing apart books in general, however this already fell apart. I will be putting up the pages as I can photograph them. I get tired fast.

The colors are more representational of the early 1900s. Nice treasure for collectors. My wife has a box full. Will tell her about this piece. Does it have a date anywhere?

No date or writing. As I said the only provenance I had was the autograph book and knowing it was authentic as an antique. My specialties in Books and Paper were pre-1900 children's books and post 1900 series books(because I inherited my mothers Nancy Drew Collection I became interested in all series books for children. Collectors always ALWAYS know more about a specific field than an antiquarian dealer like me with a narrow specialty. :)
