This is a near new Garmin GPSMAP76 waterproof handheld gps unit that you can either get here on Listia by winning this auction...or you can go to Amazon.com and purchase one for $185.65. It belongs to a friend that has decided "he's too old and doesn't need to be driving around getting lost anymore" and has asked me to list it for him. He's hoping to be able to get a nice digital camera with the credits he gets from this, so bid your hearts out.
It comes with the case and the car/lighter power adapter. He couldn't find the owners manual for it, but I looked it up and it's easily obtainable via garmin.com's website.
I looked it over for blemshes and the screen is clean, no scratches. It does have minimal scratches on the case and a small marred place on the right side...most important it works like new! You'll never get lost again. It has a gazillion options and someone like me, would definately need the manual to fully operate this bad boy!
I checked the reviews on Amazon. There were 45 and they averaged out to a strong 4 star rating. Thought that to be a pretty good starting point...
It's 6" long by 2 3/4" wide and about an inch thick and weighs 8oz.
It's marine friendly. This unit is waterproof and will float in water. It also has 8mb of memory for downloading optional Garmin data...etc. Lot's of different functions!
Hmmm...do I have an extra camera here he might like? Just Kidding!

It really is a "score"! Really cool toy and nothing is wrong with it cept some itty bitty blemishes. I should have just snagged it for myself, JUST KIDDING! I like getting lost! LOL esp. when fishing is involved and gps doesn't tell ya what's biting and where...lol

Just checked and YES! Wow, this is cool! Takes 2 AA batteries. Key on back turns to reveal battery compartment. Learned something more about the gps, I did. Hey, please don't laugh. Accidently loaded a pict. f hubby...can't delete it ..YIKES LOL

Hey, found some time yesterday to do some cleaning in one of our sheds and came across a "fish finder" in a box of fishing stuff. Trying to see if I can find the transponder and power cord for it. No way to check it but we (hubby-mostly) don't have the time, knowledge or desire to fix stuff like this so were pretty sure were safe to say it works. I'll post picts and description here in a bit. Gotta look it up and get the stats on it. LOL Hey, this is getting really fun! I showed the Old Man this morning what was going on with his Garmin and politely told him he need to add some more stuff to his wish list. LOL Found him a camera I think? It's on Listia. It's an Olympus not sure on the pixels but it's shock proof and can take underwater pictures down to 30ft. Showed Ron and his look told me he thinks I'm trying to get him into diving. 89 year old diver? why not! LOL

I thought I saw tiny horns peaking out -I did! I did! LOL Now be cool...we still got a ways to go! I'm getting ready for the count down. Tryin' to get food catered in but can't find one caterer that can figure out how to get food to everyone and keep it hot. Sheesh-well then it's BBQ chip, strong coffee and a 'rockin' radio station.. I'll be here! Ok this is so awesome! I'm gonna get every do dad I can find on Listia that'll work on the camera I wind up with. Even with 5000 credits looks like there'll be some left over for case, charger, mem. card, butler, cook, house keeper, etc. He'll be set eh?
Now I just gotta find him a young 89 yr old lady! LOL

At 1st I didn't even notice it then all of a sudden realized what it was-WOW! eym remember after 9-11 when they released the Eagle during the half time show of a football game and it flew the length of the field? I'll never ever forget that feeling. Nothing matches the Bald Eagle and what it represents. Don't get me goin' I'll be dragging out more flags LOL

what year was this made? Just curious how updated the maps are. Does it cost money to update the maps? ALso when you enter a destination does it show pictures of the streets around the area? Does it work well while in motion?

I am taking my kids to florida in march, this would be very handy
