I had one of these. Once established they work great especially with One male or two female Bettas as shown on the box. The bacteria that fish carry gets into the gavel filtration system and once it starts a healthy cycle, the tank tanks care of itself except for a 20% weekly water charge. Easiest system I ever used. On how to feed and care for it can run 2 to 3 years, often out living the betta(s)
