Description

The listing, BLACK CUMIN, PRETTY FLOWERING HERB has ended.

An herb known for its pungent fragrance, the nigella or black cumin plant is easily grown in most climates and very low maintenance . Not only does it burst into bloom, the leaves and seeds are both edible, making it a versatile choice for a garden plot or flower pot.
Nigella plants do not thrive well when transplanted, so the seeds are best sewn directly into a garden plot. The location should be in full sun and and seeds should be planted in a block formation rather than in a row as the plants support one another during the flowering period. Work the soil in the plot with your trowel, loosening up large clumps and removing any rocks or debris from the location.
Seeds perform best when sewn in late spring or early summer, when the soil has warmed and all danger of frost has passed. Sprinkle the nigella seeds liberally over the garden plot. Nigella plants prefer dense plantings, so seed the area accordingly. Cover the seeds with approximately 1/4 inch of potting soil, and water in well. Germination occurs within two weeks,
Nigella plants prefer plenty of water, but not so much as to keep the soil boggy. Do not fertilize nigella, as this dilutes the potency of the essential oils in the herb. Dead head any flowers you don't want to go to seed.
You may save your seeds from the pods in the fall. You will have many more for differentb spots and sharing. Thanks for your intrest in my auction. Please email me with any questions. I mail the next day after win.

sorry, no. You could have a big potted plant that would be covered up and after they have died out in late fall trim them down ,leaving the flowers leaves and stems in the pot. This can be cleaned out in the spring. In your zone the ground tempeture would be to cold
