Description

The listing, Dell Axim X5 Pocket PC w/ keyboard, case, xtra battery, more has ended.

400MHz, 16bit 3.5" QVGA touch screen dislay, Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC OS, 64MB RAM / 48MB ROM, USB Sync Cable; Removeable 1400mAh Battery, Weight: 6.9oz; 3.2" x 5" x 0.7". This auction includes a wifi card, a foldable keyboard, a spare battery, and a carrying case. The original stylus is missing, but I am including a generic stylus. This relacement stylus does *not* fit in the slot in the device, but will fit in the carrying case with the pocket pc and the wifi card. The charging/syncing cradle has two slots so you can charge the device and the spare battery at the same time. The charging cable can be used with the cradle or plugged directly into the device. .

I am not the original owner of this device. My home is smoke free, but not pet free, and I cannot vouch for the original owner.

I will ship the first business day after the auction ends.

I have a Palm Z22 but it does not get on the internet. With the WiFi card I am assuming then that this will connect to internet and thus allow me to get on Lista, emails, Facebook etc?
Never seen anything like this so excuse the probably simple question. InnisDavid would be laughing at me right now if he has caught up to this auction.

yes, it will acess the internet. It has internet explorer and opera beta 5.5 on it now. My primary focus in testing was verifying that the hardware works properly. I was able to access listia, although internet explorer whined about certificates. I do not remember what other sites I visited.I did not try listia in opera. My experience on mobile devices has been that opera is much better behaved.

So, if I can reach a site using Opera on my desktop does that mean I can access the site on the Palm using opera? What IE does it have on it?

Again, its me but what do you mean that ie whined about certificvates, is that something that can be overlooked? You can tell that I havent found the answers by searching on the internet or I wouldnt be asking you. So, can you explain to me please?

I am at home and the pda is at the office. Because I don't have wifi at the office, I won't be able to do further testing until I bring it home tomorrow evening. Keep in mind that this windows and Internet Explorer is from 2003 and probably can't be upgraded. The Opera installation may be newer. It is the most recent version I was able to get to install. There are undoubtably websites that will not like the older browsers.

The certificate issue is probably not a problem on sites you use regularly, and is probably related to the age of the browser. I do not know if Opera is throwing the same exception. It is, however, a security exception, and I can not vouch for any website. I would not hesitate to use it.

I will try to remember to bring the machine home tomorrow to check a couple more sites.
