I went online a few weeks ago and printed out how to start them and it seemed pretty easy. My Son has some long stemmed thornless rose' I would love to grow here

Actually the first 2 times I tried to start roses from seed, I got zero germination. Unhappy camper here. I refused to give up. If he has a healthy plant I would recommend instead of necessarily starting them from seed, a cutting would be quicker. The newest way I was told to do it with a water bottle looks very easy and you would have a healthy rooted rosebush quickly.

Yes I have started some of these as well as other rose seeds that I have received over the years. Others have been planted and have not come up yet. And still others are being stratified starting.

My kids plan on a visit this summer and are bringing some cuttings, so I am going to try starting it in a potato and cinnamon stick. I understand that works pretty good. When I bought this place 7 years ago I tried to bring 23 of my rose plants and lost every one of them. But I now know I shouldn't have tried it in the middle of winter.
I have won so many wonderful colors on here that I can't wait to get a side yard with nothing but rose' growing. Even if only 1/2 take off it will be a rainbow for the eyes.

I have tried the potato and I grew potatoes LOL. Not sure on the cinnamon stick. I will send you an email thru the email system about another way. I would also love to hear about the cinnamon stick. As avid gardeners we never hear all the tricks.
