What kind of wire do you wrap them in? Sterling silver? Silver plate?

Some of the wire is silver...looking for some now but mostly it's plated silver wire (silver over copper) and I use pure copper as well as some brass wire in several different gauges from 18ga to 28ga. On one I used a silver bangle bracelet marked 925 :). It was thin enough to be able to shape it around sapphire. Really my dream is to do this with all silver & gold. The silver sells by the inch-gold I think, is by the weight. I'd know for sure but I'm too poor to even took...and I'm scared to anyway. LOL

Hi its your biggest fan. Is this auction like the one i won last time with the amulet spirit stone,Smudge stick, and a smudge fan. (Minus the medicine bag)?
Feb 7th, 2012 at 2:28:20 PM PST by

On this one it's the amulet, the matching smudge and the smudge fan..but I can easily be talked into adding a pouch with it. As soon as it ends and my winner has chosen their gemstone I'll start working on the amulet. The smudge & fan are done except for adding the matching stones so really could make a pouch to go with it...if'n gven an extra day or so...:) Yours was the set like the other one I previously listed. It should be deiivered tomorrow. P.O. said 2 days-sent it priority mail. I got more stones today-adding bi-colored ametrine. Will add a picture after I finsh my comments. Cool!

I need real gemstones for use in Feng Shui so as truly beautiful as your creations are, I need just loose gemstones. You are, btw, so talented. I'm drooling over your photos. I fanned you awhile back, you certainly deserve it. I will bid but doubt I have enough credits to win anything at this time.

No, still working towards that. Been having so much fun making them for Listia folks, that I haven't taken it much further-but I'm also waiting to get most of the stones I've been purchasing-takes me forever to find what I'm looking for and then usually another 2-3 wks to get them here...but oh my, I have some really out of this world gemstones on their way...at last count about 60 - 70 and I've already built up my natural gemstone bead inventory (always adding) You can't imagine what it would feel like to be able to put some of my creations in your shop, and it would
an honor to work with you on developing this.
One (and oh my mind doesn't stop-LOL) thing I'd really like to do is allow folks to look through my inventory and pick their own stone and then take it from there and make their amulet a really personal item. Non of the things I do are copies though. When I choose the gemstones, it's almost like I know then what I want to do with them and each being an original unto itself also has to be kept an original. I'm trying to find a supplier where I can get sterling silver wire at a reasonable price-which to me would give them even more depth and meaning. I guess that's really where most of my priority lies in making these...keeping them as close to nature as possible. Kind of a purist approach I guess but to accept anything less would be selling out, what seems to me a wholesome helpful thing to be doing with my time.
I look at other artists and the ones who seem to be the happiest; do what they love doing, do it to a high standard and then don't compromising their work for the all mighty dollar.. Most of all, what I want to get out of doing this is to create something that gives folks yet another tool that they can use to help enhance their attributes. Would love to hear more from you on this...Thanks so much!

Hi, I need transparent and some translucent genuine gemstones, not rough but not necessarily faceted either. Cost is a real issue I'm afraid. I have recently bought two parcels and am happy with them, paid only one dollar a carat for one, transparent and very sparkly, and got 1,000 carats for $32, all opaque and polished but not faceted, most nice, a few with cracks. Just read your message about helping me with the purchase of gemstones so if your prices are competitive, would love to buy from you, tho I can afford only one purchase a month at this time. Thanks! :))

I'll gladly help you-I spend hours looking for stones. If I'm understanding this correctly, what you're looking for are natural gemstones that haven't been faceted but that have been polished. Am I getting the idea? LOL And I will do for you what I do for the ones I get...I go for the best money can buy wqithout much money. Most I have to go ahead and bid them on out to get a decent price and whatever I can reasonably get them for I will pass that onto you. I'm not looking to make anything off of doing this-just looking to help! Send me an email at onceinabluemoon2009@yahoo.com with maybe a picture of some you've found that are exactly like what you're looking for k? Wow, just curious what 1000 ct did you score for $32? I tried like all heck to get a 1000 ct amethyst but it went way over my budget...durn it LOL But, it doesn't mean I won'r eventually get one either. Not a quitter when I'm looking for something! Ohhh, but hads I had the extra $93.00 it went for to get it-I would have it was out of this world!

The 1,000 carats were an assortment of opaque unfaceted various gemstones, a few with cracks, but most were nice. That sounds like a lot of carats but the shipment was smaller than I expected and I have no way of knowing what the true carat weight is, need to get whatever I need to determine carat weight. I will email you at the address you gave me and give you more info, tonight if possible. Thanks! Also, tho none were rough, none were things like amethyst. Looks like black onyx, maybe some pretty moonstone, jasper, stuff like that.

Ohhh ok-I'm thinkn about getting a rock polisher. We could buy them rough and polish em ourselves Takes about 2-weeks 24/7. I looked at polished ones today-very spendy and limited selection...I see why you limit yourself to one a month, but still on the hunt for you..:) It would really enhance the stones to polish them a bit and I don't see how it would change their energy either. I think the aquamarines and ametrine, amethyt, quartz etc. would really be awesome.

Hard to see what others see al of the time but I also see all of the boo boo's LOL Very sweet of you! Probably the funnest part of all of this is working with the wire. There's basically 3 types dead soft (very flexible, bendable, etc. then there's the half hard (I love this one-still mallable but stiffer and stays where ys puts it lol and then there's memory wire which is a bear to bend but once you get it where you want it, it's cement LOL
Some of my best wire wrapping occur when hubby John and I are buck-buckin! :)and has me ticked LOL A lot of frustration etc is despelled bending and weaving the wire lmao!! Poor John, if'n he only knew..Ha!
