This is a second copy of a book I have already read and enjoyed before the Hallmark Channel's Murder She Baked series. This a best-selling cozy mystery novel and enjoyable one at that.

Hannah Swensen's boyfriend who is also a detective for Winnetka County, has a ex-girlfriend opening a bakery in town and this brings competition for The Cookie Jar, Hannah's bakery. Shawna Lee is a Southern transplant who is also catering the same wedding reception as Hannah in the form of baked goods. On the day of the reception, however, Shawna Lee and Mike Kingston are nowhere to be found. Later that evening, Hannah notices something suspicious at the location of the competing bakery, checks it out, and finds another murder victim, Shawna Lee, bludgeoned to death inside with one of her pies.
