-Lopez was an early-day Joe Torre, a great player who turned into a great manager. He collected over 1500 hits as a player, routinely collecting MVP votes due to reportedly superior glovework, but is best remembered as a manager, having managed both the Cleveland Indians (1954) and Chicago White Sox (1959) to rare World Series appearances. His strength as manager led to his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977.
-Stephens retired with the White Sox, but is better known with the Red Sox (8 seasons in Boston).
