HELLO FRIENDS!! I MAY SAY A LOT BUT I HOPE IT HELPS YOU MAKE GREAT DECISIONS ABOUT BIDDING WITH CONFIDENCE ON MY ITEMS!!

On auction is a very different style pitcher, almost like a teapot but not quite. It's extremely old according to the kind grandmother who sold this to me at an estate sale. I wish I could have taken the grandmother with me too! It's just for decorative purposes and actually goes with my dishes but I'm at capacity already! She couldn't tell me what the kind of metal on it is but based on the tarnish I'm guessing either silver be it Tibetan or Sterling or perhaps even pewter. I couldn't find it online, not that I'm sure of what label I'd have given it as a research word other than what I tried already. The purple fades to a smoky purple towards the bottom of the pitcher. There is a chip on the spout of which I've taken several pics of however I never even noticed it until I looked hard for it. It only shows slightly in one position and doesn't detract from the beautiful item. There is also glass that sticks out a bit underneath it but I can't tell you why it's like that. If you need anymore pictures of any part of it that I missed, please just ask!!

No questions are ever dumb. I enjoy estate sales when I can get out and I found one last weekend with a lot of purple dishes. I kept most but don't have the room for everything. As unique as this is I'm hoping it can be appreciated more than I could.

Thank you! No I don't know if it ever had a lid and the woman at the estate sale said she didn't know either (I asked too lol!). She only knew it as it is and having been on her grandmother's hutch forever. I tried looking it up but no luck there. Thanks for asking even tho I don't have a good answer for you!!

That's ok! You know you have a special treasure when you can't find a bunch of the same item online! It will probably need to get looked at by an antique dealer to find out exactly what it is, and it's value. Anyway, I'm watching this one! Great auction!

The glass sticking out on the bottom may be because it it hand-blown. That's the cut-off point. Where they crack it off of the 'holder' when they are finished.

Absolute favorite pastime! I think I live for weekends just so I can go yard and estate sale hopping! Gotta love the thrill of the hunt! I went to a sale at a museum last year, all donated items, and they were practically giving away Fenton glassware and other great treasures. I can't wait til July when they're doing it again! Wahoo!

Me too! That's what I'm always on the lookout for too! Unique unusual items that you can't just go to the store to find. About 80% of my house is all decorated from second and third hand items. You know what they say, one man's junk is another man's treasure!!
