Questions & Comments
I have something from the same manufacturer but it says LS is that different?
i did find out that the IS is for international silver company which is been out of business for awhile come to find out when i lived in CT it was right down the ST from me
The fork is from the First Love series and was designed in 1937. The IS is for the International Silver company which is now under a new name. It's a great piece.
That is the best part is finding the history behind each piece. This company has been around forever and has great stuff. I have been collecting vintage jewelry which is very odd for me because I don't wear much. My daughter loves the movie Titanic and that time period so it started from that. She will be wearing two pieces from the 1900's in her hair for prom. They are just amazing rhinestone flowers. It's is fun to find things and their stories. Jenn
Go to www.silverandgold exchange.com It states ANY silver flatware marked with IS is silver plated. I have tried to sell some flatware to a local, reputable buyer, that is an old family friend and he confirmred the marking IS is for silverplate items. Just FYI
