The listing, Vintage Wood Box Paper Litho Asian Design Lovely Handmade Box with Lid has ended.

This is a sweet old box, made with litho paper all over. I am unsure of the kind of wood used.
An Asian scene
Measures about 6 1/2" x 4" x 1.5"
The lid has a lip but no hinges and it works very nicely.

Planning on bidding closer to the end. I looked at the photos again. The wood although I am not a wood expert appears to look like pine and the lid appears to be enamel. Breath taking piece!

~~~~~~~~~~ Try a GOOGLE search for "Kashmir Pine wood" to become an expert ;-)

The top is enamel alright BUT the wood, from the look of it, is "most likely" Kashmir
almonds or the more commonly used "sheesham".
I know because my family has many such "antique" as well as contemporary boxes.
I use a few to store my "precious stamps" in and coins in the more hardy Walnut
wood boxes.

in comparison; ALSO, if it is almond, it would be much costlier than anything else.
& then, do you come across Sandalwood craft often ? It ( the wood ) comes from
way down South and the fragrance is exhilirating to say the very least.
Best quality Sandalwood is as costly as silver although "lesser" quality wood can
be had cheap - via the smuggling route ;-)

This box weighs a bit over 6 ozs. I would consider it light..but not light like balsam wood and not quite as heavy as pine.

Futuristic. I hate to burst your bubble, but pine wood is very light. Its cheap, its light & their are massive amounts of items out their made of pine. And boxes are a huge part of pine cause its easy to work with & cheap. This looks like pine.
