Based on alleged true experiences, five long-time friends participate (some enthusiastically, some reluctantly) in a session of the popular board game in an attempt to contact and gain a measure of closure regarding the recent passing of a close friend of the group. Instead, they inadvertently manage to summon the evil spirit of the legendary demon ZoZo, a dark presence that possesses and wields powers far beyond anything humans can approach or even imagine. The group soon discovers that ZoZo's malevolent skills can't be easily dismissed, and one by one are forced to confront their deepest and most terrifying personal fears. A sense of claustrophobia, unnerving closeups and unsteadiness permeates throughout from start to finish, owing to the production being filmed on Super8mm with hand-held camera.
