Description

The listing, HUGE lot of DMC EMBROIDERY FLOSS! Cross-Stitcher's DREAM! Every color of the rainbow! has ended.

I would estimate there is over $150-worth of floss in this lot that comes from a non-smoking home. I've just kept all of it stored in a closet so no kitties have touched it :-)

I had to really think about listing this one. I just don't cross-stitch anymore and had no one to pass this huge lot of embroidery floss on to, so someone is going to flip when they get this!

I didn't count all the cards but I'll tell you: there's enough floss in these 3 boxes (boxes are included) to keep someone stitching for a very long time!

One box contains additional cards to wrap more colors on and mark. All of the colors are currently marked so if you were to work on a project with the DMC numbers listed, you could get awfully close if the EXACT number for the pattern isn't in here!

All three boxes will fit into a medium-sized shipping box so I'm offering free shipping on this one to make it even more fun/a great, totally free gift for somebody out there.

Maybe YOU!

Oh I so wish I had enough point to bid on this! I would have loved to have the Needle Treasures kit. From what I can see of the picture it looks like a D.Morgan cross-stitch pattern. I'd love for whoever wins this to contact me if they don't want it! D.Morgan is a wonderful artist from Atlanta, I love her prints.

I hope you somehow get it! I debated over listing them separately but just decided on doing ONE shipment for ONE person.

Keep your eye on who wins this and maybe they'll list if for you! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Thanks for your awesome auction! I wish I could win it for my Mama! I bet the credits/bids will go sky high! Fanned you and watching! God Bless You too and I love your sweet little kitty face- looks soooo much like our white kitty Sweet Pea!!!!

I hope, too, the credits get up there because it's a lot of floss I bought! I don't know how much floss is running these days but each of these cards are pretty full...if not unused if I just happened to be on a 'floss buying spree."

One of my granddaughter's name our "Christmas kitty" (as he was a gift from another daughter at Christmastime), "Winter." Then, my kitty-loving best friend had stopped by and was playing with him, calling him "Mister." Because he's so sweet and so, so smart and cute, his name is Mister Winter. It's funny how he responds so quickly to that name! I've never had an all-white kitty before and he's simply a joy to boot!

Thanks for your comments and good luck winning this for your Mama! Whoever gets this will be utterly thrilled and won't have to buy floss for a looooong time!

Aw, That's a great story! He looks deserving of a title before his name- Mister Winter!~ I love it! We used to have an all-white kitty named Paris but we called him many endearments, nicknames and Mr. P was one of them! All in all, we have Sweet Pea, Lilly-Belle (her fluffy long-haired sister- soooo beautiful) Sicily a.k.a. "Sister" and then my three cats, Queen Bee, Sakye and Tiny Mouse! Hahaha LOL Then can't forget the wonderful doggies Bo and Daisy! They are white too! My Queen Bee and Sakye are orange kitties and Tiny is a Tuxedo with big yellow eyes! She looks and acts like a cartoon!
This is a Fabulous Auction- I think embroidery floss goes for $2- $4 a skein depending on where you buy it- so this is a FORTUNE worth- Mama uses it to quilt her homemade blankets and add decorative buttons, beads, etc. I am planning to use it to get back into cross-stitching as soon as I get my other craft projects done.. don't think I'm going to be able to take advantage but I am very happy for whomever wins this Auction- its GREAT and so generous of you! God Bless you and yours and your furry fuzzy Children too. I love them - they bring so much Joy into our lives don't they? So precious!!!

We had lost our beloved dog, Kahlua, and then I lost a kitty, Snickers. It's so heartbreaking. Hubby didn't want another pet but Mister Winter, Abbey (rescued from being put to sleep at a shelter) are incredible with the joy they bring us.

I could never have a baby boy and, as it was, I was in the hospital from my 4th month to get my premie daughter (who is now pushing 30 with 3 children of her own...I'm a very happy mom and grandmom!)

Mister Winter is a complete DELIGHT, even in his 'terrible two's.' Since when do kitties FETCH? I'll throw one of his toys across the room and say, "Bring it back' and he does...and puts the toy in my hand!

I cannot even FATHOM what he'd do with these boxes of floss! They'd be all over the place with his batting them around! And he DIGS: he got into one of my jewelry boxes and, with his paw (when I caught him) digging pieces out and spreading them all over my bedroom floor. I found several by STEPPING on them; they wound up in my foot, including a pair of diamond earrings.

He's something else but, like you said, so precious!

By the way, out of curiousity I just did a quick estimate based on what i see and using $3.00 average value per skein and came up with over $800.00!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!! Some needle-working crafter will be hitting the Jackpot!!!!!

WOW is RIGHT! I was being very conservative in my estimation of the value of all this floss...just guessing. But, you're much closer to what I spent when I think of the trips buying it all: about $75 per visit to my local Michael's.

I know: some needleworker is going to be in HEAVEN with this lot and I know I'll feel good about its not just hanging around doing nothing when it could be used by someone who otherwise couldn't afford it all.

yep, I learned counted cross-stitching from my mom and it's like eating popcorn, so addicting! I certainly understand where you're coming from with getting the floss you need. I was in a similar situation for awhile and I went on a "floss spending spree." Therefore, knowing what I spent, I was reluctant to let it all go. You know, "what if" stuff going back to cross-stitching. I don't think so, though, because I got involved with polymer clay. Once I'm done spring cleaning, back I go to THAT and you'll be seeing some awesome wine glasses, beads, etc.

Good luck to you!

You're adorable :-) I do have fun with my auctions and I think people sense that. I think I get more excited than they do because I ALWAYS include surprises though I may not have specified the info in an auction.

Yep, I really enjoy being a member of the Listia community---full of awesome people! I've made some wonderful friends!

Yep, that's why I held on to all of my cross-stitching stuff, too: "WHAT IF I go back to it?" But, between my love of crocheting, needle tatting, and polymer clay, I just don't see it happening. If it hasn't happened in the last three years, it most likely won't (that's the gauge I use for my crafting stuff).

I think, especially due to the economy, many people are 'getting back to basics' and starting early in the year to make gifts. This year, I'm crocheting everyone their own 'lapghan' and it's a BEAUTIFUL textured pattern that has rings of color going around in a pattern and it's CIRCULAR! It's such a great pattern to work with.

If anyone is interested in that pattern, it's free through a Google search "circular lapghan" It looks like the sun is spilling all over this woman's lap---you see that, you've found the right one. I'd put the url in here but it always winds up messed up so people can't copy and paste it without messing with it.

Thanks so much for your well wishes!

You're so welcome and I'm so GLAD someone is going to get it who really doesn't have the money for it all. For the cost of a shipping box and 'old' costs for everything, NOW it will all find a home and be USED!

I'm amazed that some people have to pay $3.00 for a skein of this. It costs me $.39, sometimes as much as $.44 for each one. Even at the prices I pay, this is still a great deal and whoever gets it is a lucky one!

Hi! I thought it was cheaper as well so I went with a round figure of around $150.

I just added two bonuses I just received from another Listian with yarn I won from her so now there are two projects included. I MAY put up a couple other I have but I might just list those separately because I bought them/they weren't given to me.

The bonuses added come to around $20 in value. So, I'm kinda easing up on the $200 mark....and THAT seems to be more realistic to me...not $800! (Well, it would be that if you paid $3/skein!).

This should be a great auction! I cross stitch too but haven't in some time and have just had the itch to get into it again. I know how difficult it can be to give up anything that has to do with cross stitiching or other crafts you enjoy, even if you haven't done it in awhile. Thanks for the long listing. Blessings to you, too, and good luck! I deliberately put longer days on this auction so people did have time to build credits. Also, do take a look at getting credits through offers. For example, I was going to get a Netflix account and then saw it was offered as a choice on here and it had quite a few credits for signing up. Since I was getting it anyway, it was really great I got a bunch of credits for Listia, too!
