Description

The listing, 1893 COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION SILVER HALF DOLLAR has ended.

This coin, issued in 1893 commemorates the Chicago COLUMBIAN Exposition, the first American world's fair. On the front is a portrait of Columbus, on the back a map and a sailing ship. It also says 1492. I guess they were a year late for the 400th anniversary!

It is a 90% silver half dollar.

They actually minted these in 1892 and 93. Mint production numbers are lower for 1st year.
Nice Coin! Americas first commemorative half!

Yes, I found that out. It's hard to find a 1892.
