Description

The listing, My Loss Your Gain!! Antique Porcelain Insulators!! has ended.

Well I knew this would happen one of these days, hubby says my collecting is getting out of hand and I have until the end of April to downsize!

So here is the start to my downsizing!

You are looking at or bidding on 2 brown porcelain insulators with the original wood post. They are nearly identical with no markings. I believe they were used for the telegraph lines but my research is only limited to what I have found on the internet from various sources.

Please ask any questions you may have before placing your bid!
If you are the winner of this auction you have 7 days to respond with your shipping address.
Regretfully I cannot offer free shipping on these but I am only asking for half the cost of a medium flat rate box shipping payable via Paypal only.
If however bidding reaches 5,000 I will gladly ship for free or you can always use GIN and I will ship for free that way.

Thank you for looking and be sure to keep an eye out for my other listings coming soon! Ranging from antique bottles, antique insulators, and antique books (now you know why my husband says enough!) maybe even a few coins here and there :)

I collect insulators and have quite a nice, but small, collection of porcelains. The procelains (a/k/a "mud") in the insulator hobby come from electrical poles, not telegraph or telephone. Unfortunately most are not marked, but beautiful in their own way regardless!

Thank you! I have a bunch of the porcelains...hence why I have to downsize. Do you know anything about the black colored porcelains? I have one with an unknown marking, I am not getting rid of it but I am curious about it :)

Hi Nancy.. Could not help but notice you live in Newport too !

I like these insulators, but sure do like the wood vases a bit better !

Good luck here on Listia :)

Tell your husband you don't want to quit collecting things. My husband would know better than to tell me anything. I rule the school. Anyway,I have a large collection of insulators of all kinds. I have not had the occasion to see ones like these before, they are very cool! I like them!
