they just slip on.
they have soft gel soles and the inside top part have fuzzy plush to keep the cold out and the warmth in.

it finally got cold in Los Angeles, however my daughter put the size 2 on and as she was walking out the front door told me they where just too tight on her. so she took them off. then i realized that this size 1 where not going to be of any use to even try put them on.
as you can see they are brand new and lovely. they still have their cardboard inserts and price tag of $29.00 on them.
