'Blackthorne's Bride' by Joan Johnston (New York times bestselling author); I really enjoyed reading this story; here is a synopsis; the pic of back cover may be difficult to read in the photo, sorry 'bout that. Most of the story is set in England 1800's, the prologue is what caught my attention immediately, so I won't give it away.

Two yrs have past since Josie Wentworth was bought from the Sioux Indians by the Duke of Blackthorne and whisked back to England. Unbeknownst to Marcus (the Duke) Josie ends up as a maid at one of his neglected estates far from London & meets 2 young boys who are sadly neglected as well. Charmed by the boys, then finds out they are the Duke's nephews, Josie learns to despise this 'Duke of Blackthorne' for neglecting his nephews AND breaking his promise to return her to America, given to her 2yrs earlier. An unexpected visitor puts Josie in a position to exact her revenge on Marcus Wharton the Duke of Blackthorne......and oh what a merry chase is put into motion!!
