Persson is pictured with the St. Louis Blues.

Originally a first round pick of the New Jersey Devils in 1987, Ricard initially spurned the draft and played 8 years in Sweden before returning to the US and honoring his draft assignment. He only played one game with the Devils before being shuttled to St. Louis. Persson went on to play 8 seasons in the NHL, mainly with the St. Louis Blues and Ottawa Senators, appearing in the playoffs 5 times.
