Brand new.
Handcrafted silver plated wire teardrop shaped hoop earrings. Measures 2 3/4 inches long.
Beads are peacock blue (I think that's what they call this color) beautifully faceted glass rondelles (shape of bead) along with darling little opalite "plumpy disc" shaped beads.
I didn't know anything about opalite when I bought these beads. I bought them because I thought they were so pretty. I just now googled "opalite" to find out. It is apparently used in a lot of jewelry these days.
Here is what Wikipedia says about opalite:
"Opalite is a trade name for synthetic opalised glass and various opal simulants.[1][2] It is also used to promote impure varieties of variously colored common opal.[1]"

These are very pretty beads. They do have that milky (translucent)subtle glow, coloring and depth like opals, but more of hues radiating from within the bead rather than like the more crisper colors I have seen in real opal gemstones. I put them together with the peacock beads because both beads seem to enhance each other. The opalites take on colors of whatever they are adjacent to. They are also faceted.
Beads are strung on silver plated jewelry wire.

These would be terrific for many occasions, really great with jeans and a tee shirt. Add a bit of "flirty" to your outfit!
