Questions & Comments
Original
Very pretty!! Already your fan & watching! Also, thank you for the information on the watch! As far as the bidding comments go, I hadn't looked at it like that .I make large bids at the beginning sometimes just because I want the item so bad & bid everything I've got, so they're not fake bids for me at all. I don't do fake bids. No offence, please. Thank you for auctioning this beautiful watch!

sorry Uzit , I do not mean to attack someone else, but I am sure, any true bidders would want get the real good stuff with a little of credit.
or buy good stuff with cheap price .. and it certainly can not arguing anymore.
Another things if buying somethings by a pre-determined price, want or do not...
to have pay that price.

sorry i did not mean to attack anyone. I just share what all I know to anyone.

Gruen is made by Rolex isn't it? I actually don't bid like that. I put in a ceiling bid (the highest I will go for a particular item) and let the auction run. If I get outbid, it's fine. If not, cool ...I win. I'm not trying to run up bids, I'm just conserving my other credits for other auctions. On the other hand, I sometimes forget (and I have wierd hours, I sleep in the day and work at night), so I might get outbid because I was going to wait until the last minute and forgot or was working and couldn't get to a computer. That's why I start high.

I don't think so, the owner of Gruen watches brand has long been bankrupt.

yes I know you didn't like that, I believe there are bidders who doing like it .. because bidder did not get time to watch the auction until the end .. and the end.., it's not the name of the winner bidder.
It all can be seen in the bidding history.

But .., I often get bidders doing bid at the beginning auction or 1-2 days after the auction began. and then chased each other with other bidders while they still have a long duration.
it happens in high-value goods are auctioned or have famous brand.

There the true bidders, just want got the good stuff with a little credits.
and there the fake bidders just want trying to make the credits of item auctioned is going high.

Yep, you're right. The Swiss movement of some of the 1800 Gruen's were made by Jean Aegler who later went to work for Rolex. That's where I heard them associated. It has a fascinating history. Thanks for putting it up.

that amazes me, why now many "Gruen" watches without "SWISS" mark below Gruen ? and using japan movement, not swiss movement.
and Gruen watches [without SWISS mark] have price are very cheap under GRUEN watches who have "SWISS" mark.
