I won a laptop on here. I'm guessing it has windows 95. Would this work for an older computer like that?

I'd like to say yes. However, I can only confirm what it states on the box which is windows xp, vista, and 7. I'm not sure if it will work on windows 95, as you know, it's a very old operating system.
