Description

The listing, Size 9 Sterling Silver Celtic Irish Claddagh Ring *BNWT* has ended.

This Auction is for a Size 8 Sterling Silver Celtic Irish Claddagh Ring. This is a Sterling silver Band with the traditional Irish wedding "Claddagh" band and is Black brushed giving it the antiqued look. This is a remainder from our Brick and Mortar store and will arrive BRAND NEW WITH TAGS and in the BOX.

The Claddagh's design features two hands clasping a heart, and surmounted by a crown. This symbol are said to correspond to the qualities of love (the heart), friendship (the hands), and loyalty (the crown). If the ring is on the right hand with the heart facing outward and away from the body, this indicates that the person wearing the ring is not in any serious relationship, and may in fact be single and looking for a relationship: "their heart is open." When worn on the right hand but with the heart facing inward toward the body, this indicates the person wearing the ring is in a relationship, or that "someone has captured their heart".

ORIGIN of the Claddagh: There are a variety of legends about the origins of the ring. Richard Joyce, left his town to work in the West Indies, intending to marry his love when he returned. His ship was captured and he was sold as a slave to a Moorish goldsmith. In Algiers, with his new master, he was trained in his craft. When William III became king, he demanded the Moors release all British prisoners. As a result, Richard Joyce was set free. The goldsmith had such respect for this man that he offered him his daughter and half his wealth if he stayed, He refused and returned home to marry his love who awaited his return. While he had been gone he forged a ring as a symbol of his love for her. Upon his return he presented her with the ring and they were married.

Thank you for taking a look. Feel free to ask questions.

Hello Friend, Thank you so much for bringing this mistake to attention. I apologize for the confusion, it is not normal for me to make mistakes like this. I had previously listed a Size 8 so I changed the pictures and title but didn't catch the description. Again, thank you for bringing it to my attention giving me the opportunity to try to clarify for everyone the Size issue before the end of the auction. I hope your Sunday is Super and that your week ahead is wonderful! Brightest Blessings to you!
